Jewellery
I have been a lifelong dressmaker but working with swathes of fabric isn't so easy these days, and I recently became interested in the idea of making some jewellery, as it's really artwork to be worn. I began by using silver clay, but very quickly realised its monochromatic limitations didn't allow me to express myself artistically. So I moved on to using coloured polymer clay. I've been making for some months now and really enjoy the process of creating these small pieces of art. As well as making the pendant forms, I also hand make the coloured and textured beads, in order to be able to match the main form with the hanging components.
The intention is to sell the jewellery pieces through local craft/artisan stores and exhibiting, and donate the profits to charity.
