Handmade Books
I've been interested in bookbinding since being introduced to the processes involved many years ago at college. Recently I decided to dedicate some time to refamiliarise myself with the entire process; and produce a range of handmade books. Bookbinding involves numerous processes, and 30+ stages of construction per book. I'm using recycled cartridge paper as the base material for every book. The marbled covers and endpapers are produced by hand using my own marbling techniques (literally a twist on the traditional methods!). Other covers are made from fabric, and photos I've taken of the coloured cartridge sheets.
The intention is to sell the books through local book and craft/artisan stores, and donate the profits to charity.
